Misty May underwent successful surgery this morning on her achilles tendon. She is expected to recover fully, but will be out of this year’s Dancing with the Stars competition. However, Misty is determined to return to both the beach and the ballroom next year.

Hi Misty – I have been on a CA road trip so only got to see your first dance from a friend’s house in Sausalito. Last Tuesday I talked a friend in Hermosa into watching you instead of his usual political program. We were both so bummed to hear of your injury. I know you will be back and I look forward to seeing you dance again. Between the Olympics and Dancing on the Stars, you have been the best entertainment of the year. By the way, how do you dance in those high-heeled contraptions? I met you last year with the Piianaias in San Francisco. Remember? Hi to your nice fun dad and a speedy recovery to you. Aloha, Lynn

i am exactly the same way Misty, i won’t cry unless its really necessary. I am only 12 and you are the reason i believe that i succeed in life you do what i love most. Which is soccer. I truly respect you and hope you heal fine. Best luck on the recovery.

MIsty, it hurts me too see your face now. I know this hurt you in more ways than one. I guess it’s better now than during the olympics or during the AVP season.
I know you’ll bounce back soon, plus you can probably rock the crutches better than anybody else out there. Be careful healing.

Misty,
I am in the same boat as you are. I ruptured my left achillies about a month before you, September 2nd was my “incident”. I was on vacation and only 3 days into a 14 day trip to Scotland when my A.T. let go.
Some how I came through surgery with no pain and have had no need for the pain killers perscribed to me. Hopefully you have had such luck with your surgery and lack of pain.
I wish you the best of luck on your recovery and physical theropy.

Misty,
Just wanted to wish you a speedy recovery…the show just won’t be the same without you and Maksim competing. I’ll still watch, of course, but I’ll miss seeing you two. You and Kerri have literally been my favorite athletes for a long time, and I hope you bounce back quick. Thinking of you, and wishing you well…you’re in my thoughts and prayers.
Get Well Soon!

Misty,
It was extremely sad to hear that you had to pull out of the DWTS competition due to an injury. I knew you could’ve totally won this! You definitely showed you could do anything you want, if you put your mind to it.
I am glad to hear the surgery on your Achilles tendon went well. Hope you have a speedy recovery. Will be keeping an eye out for you on the beach and hopefully next year on the ballroom again!!
Take care!! :)

Hi Misty,
We all wish you a complete, strong recovery! Stay strong! We can all relate to what you are going through. I am going through the same ATR recovery, as 200 other people are on AchillesBlog. You’ll be playing Vball and Jiving in due time. :) We sent you a T-shirt to your fan mail address.

Misty,
I am sorry about your injury but glad that the surgery went well. I was praying for you and will continue to do so. May you have a speedy recovery so you can get back to doing what you love. I know that the God I love and serve hears and answers prayers according to His perfect will.

Hey Misty glad to hear you are doing well. I can’t describe how upset I was to hear of your injury and that you would be out of DWTS. You were the top 3 if not the top in my book. Thanks for the 3 dances you did give us. You were amazing!!! It didn’t look like an amatuer when you were on the floor. Please get well soon because the AVP isn’t gonna be the same without “turtle” and if ABC is smart you will be back on next year for DWTS. Best wishes and once again Get Well Soon

Oh Misty! I was boohoo crying watching you on the show. You’re way stronger than me girl. If you have to force abc to bring you back. You and Maks aren’t finished with DWTS yet!
Nancy Slaterbeck | on 7/10/08

Misty:
I am so proud of the way you have handled your injury. Grace & determination are what the youth of America needs to see more of.
I will miss you so much on DWTS and I look forward to your return on the court and on the dance floor.
God Bless You. I do hope you won’t go stir crazy because you sure don’t seem like the type that likes to just sit around. I hope you get to start your family soon.
