Olympian Misty May shows you the proper technique for the front, back & quick set.

Well well well, where do I start? First off I hope that you all enjoy my new site. Thanks for continuing to cheer on Kerri and I as we make a run for London 2012. The year has started off great. In Brazil we took home a silver medal....losing 15-12 in the third set to Julianna/Larissa. Not bad at all for not playing together for a couple of years. The following week we played in Sanya, China. In the semifinals during the 2nd set I tweaked my MCL and had to forfeit the rest of the match so we ended up with a 4th. Still not bad. I was bummed about getting injured but I believe in things happening for certain reasons. As with any injury I was able to get on the first flight back to get back and get my knee checked out. Thanks Dr. Schobert and Crown Valley Imaging for getting me in first thing that Monday morning. I had a MCL grade 2 sprain but started therapy that same Monday at Newport Physical Therapy (David Bradley). Usually it takes 6-8 weeks but I told them I needed to be back by Beijing so that gave everyone just over 4 weeks. I thought nothing but about healing and getting back on the court. So, with a knee brace in tow, I did manage to get back ready for Beijing. In fact, it would be the first Grand Slam of the year but also the very first time since capturing the Gold that Kerri and I have been back there. After a tough 3 set loss to Akers/Branagh in our first match of our pool, we were able to pull things together and ended up winning the event . It was so exciting and I felt that our team just got stronger as the tournament went on. As we stood up on the podium listening to our National Anthem, the memories flowed. What a great accomplishment for the both of us. We don't want it to stop, but only continue. So where am I today? Right now Kerri and I are in Rome, Italy for the World Championships . We begin pool play on June 14. I am extremely excited and ready for this new challenge. Thanks for the Cheers and GO USA!!!
